Membership of OUMS

Basic membership

Basic membership is absolutely free, and is available to all university members. It offers the following benefits:

  • Emails - for even more up-to-the-minute information, OUMS members can also receive regular e-mail bulletins. These are usually sent once a week during term-time and include information about auditions, performances and employment opportunities, as well as reminders about university and college concerts.

OUMS Facilities Card

Please read: Important information about the Facilities Card

For a payment of only £5 per year, this optional card entitles members to a whole host of further benefits:

  • Practice Facilities - card-holders have free access to the practice rooms at the music faculty (evenings and weekends only). Further details about booking these rooms are available when you apply for the card.
  • Recital Series - OUMS runs a recital series in the prestigious Holywell Music Room every Tuesday evening during term-time. This provides a chance to hear some of the university's top players. Entrance is free for facilities card-holders. See the recital series page for details of this term's performers.
  • Concert Discounts - card-holders are able to get discounts on many other concerts across the university. See the concert calendar for details of forthcoming concerts.

To receive a facilities card, please send £5.00 (cheques payable to "Oxford University Music Society") to the OUMS Membership Secretary, C/O Callum Hackett, Merton (using internal post system). Any queries to membership@oums.org. You need to tell us your Name, College, Email address, TERM of Graduation and your University Card Number.
