OUMS: Oxford University Music Society

Welcome to OUMS

Formed in 1867, the Oxford University Music Society is one of the oldest societies in the University. OUMS runs several ensembles: Oxford University Orchestra, Oxford University Philharmonia, Oxford University Sinfonietta, Oxford University Wind Orchestra, Oxford Chamber Orchestra, Oxford String Ensemble, Oxford University Big Band and Oxford University Brass Band.

The Oxford University Music Society was founded to promote the appreciation and performance of music within the University. For the last 140 years we have been a central focus for Oxford's rich musical life. Members, whether listeners or performers, enjoy a wide range of facilities and benefits, and many performing groups are greatly assisted through our co-ordination work and financial support.
